What Do Hemorrhoids Look Like
Although we don't talk about it,
hemorrhoids is a common condition. In the USA alone, it is
estimated that almost 50% of Americans have this condition by
the age of around 40 to 50 years old. It is a safe assumption
that up to more than 50% of the world's population are affected
by hemorrhoids at some time in their life.
Most of these people with hemorrhoids do not even know they have it as mild hemorrhoids
will clear up on its own. Only a relatively small number of
people actually seek treatment due to the personal nature of
this condition. It is estimated that only about 500 thousand
people in America are medically treated for
hemorrhoids.
As mentioned, many people do not know that they have
hemorrhoids especially if they suffer from this condition for
the first time. Many do not notice anything wrong when they feel
pain and discomfort in the anal area. Therefore, they do not
seek any treatment or take any necessary action. Before they
know it, their condition worsens and gets more painful. More severe
types of hemorrhoids include bleeding hemorrhoid, thrombosed
hemorrhoid , prolapsed hemorrhoids and fissures. All these
require surgery and the worst thing is that relapse may occur after
the surgery.
It is important to realize that you actually have hemorrhoids so that
necessary treatment can be given. Do not delay treatment, as
the condition will get worse if no action is taken and no
changes are made in your dietary lifestyle.

The graphics below give you
a good idea of the location of internal and external
hemorrhoids, as well as a prolapsing internal hemorrhoid. As you
can see, the internal hemorrhoids cannot be seen from the
outside. This is when most people assume they do not have
hemorrhoids, as they don't see it from the outside.

These 2 pictures show you what do hemorrhoids look
like. They are not pretty, but will give you a good idea how
hemorrhoids look.
